Synthetic glue Glubran 2
The synthetic glue is based on N-butyl cyanoacrylate, modified by adding a monomer developed by the manufacturer. It represents a pale-yellow transparent ready for use liquid.

Adhesive
High tensile strength. The minimum allowable loading is 18 kg/cm2, which significantly exceeds both physiological and pathological abdominal pressure rates.
Sealant
Due to its synthetic nature and high strength adhesive composition, Glubran 2 forms a thin elastic film having a gas and structural composition and does not change when interacting with blood or other body fluids.
Hemostatic
Hemostasis is achieved as a result of mechanical action; blood clots are formed during a chemical reaction. It is an excellent remedy for stopping oozing and capillary bleeding.
Bacteriostat
During polymerization, the glue forms an effective antiseptic barrier against pathogens of the most common infections found for up to 7 days in the surgical environments.
Sclerosant
Under intravascular administration "Glubran 2" leads to the vessel occlusion with the local thrombosis formation and fibrosis and sclerosis as a result.
Liquid embolizer
Under intravascular administration, Glubran 2 polymerizes with a clot formation that due to its high adhesion force adheres tightly to the vessel wall causing embolization.

The glue begins to harden after 1-2 seconds. The polymerization reaction is complete in 60-90 seconds. Polymerization time depends on the fabric type, the presenting liquids and the amount of the product applied. During polymerization, the glue forms an effective antiseptic barrier that prevents infectious agents’ and pathogens’ penetration found in the surgical environments.
Upon contact with living tissue in a humid environment, the glue quickly polymerizes, forming a thin elastic waterproof film of high tensile strength, that guarantees a strong adhesion to tissues. The film follows the fabric surface relief where it has been applied.
At the end of polymerization, the glue reaches its maximum mechanical strength, no longer obtaining adhesive properties, therefore napkins or surgical dressings can be applied over the wound without the unwanted adhesion risk. The polymerization reaction is accompanied by a temperature increase up to about 45 °C at the application site.
