IPOM UP: installation scheme

- 1. Choice of technique for umbilical hernia excision
- 2. Selection of the optimal endoprosthesis from the size range
- 3. Semilunar incision with the smallest possible access size
- 4. Excision of the hernial sac
- 5. Hernial orifice isolation with the edge preparation for implant placement
- 6. Wetting in the sterile saline for better insertion and spreading in the cavity
- 7. Proper insertion into the abdominal cavity (roll up or twist the endoprosthesis)
- 8. Positioning the implant with a finger until fully deployed

- 9. Positioning and expansion of the implant inside the abdominal cavity or tablet, expansion of pockets
- 10. Tightening to the exact elastic tension
- 11. Breeding in place well in advance for early implant margins
- 12. Fixation at 4 points for the external polypropylene pockets of the implant
- 13. Positional tape clipping
- 14. Fixation throughout the structure with simultaneous butt closure
- 15. Layered wound closure
- 16. Closure of the skin flap with internal cosmetic sutures, skin stapler or surgical glue
