It is a sterile, isotonic, pyrogen-free viscoelastic solution of highly purified, non-inflammatory, 2% and 2.5% hydroxypropyl methylcellulose with a high molecular weight of over 80,000 daltons.
Nano Visc is an ophthalmic surgical agent for anterior segment surgery. Due to its viscoelastic properties, Nano Visc is used to protect the corneal endothelium from possible damage. Also used as a clinical agent for separating ocular tissues. It is easily removed after surgery, minimizing the trabecular obstruction risk, that can increase intraocular pressure after surgery.
2% - standard viscoelastic solution, which is used by most ophthalmic surgeons in daily practice;
2.5% - viscoelastic solution with increased molecular weight and viscosity for cases where HPMC is also used to maintain the capsular bag volume.
Thanks to double purification with filters containing special nanocrystals, Nano Visc has a high transparency degree, that facilitates the instruments manipulation during surgery and reduces the damage risk of corneal endothelial cells. Nano Visc is easily removed after surgery, minimizing the trabecular obstruction risk, that can increase intraocular pressure after surgery.
