Characteristics

Transpedicular spinal fixation (abbreviated as TPF) is a modern way to treat complex spinal injuries.
The operation allows you to fix the vertebrae in the desired position, and thereby eliminate their displacement or other serious consequences. This manipulation type is used both in the cervical and thoracic, lumbar regions. It is prescribed only if there are indications and no alternative treatment methods.
The main indications for operation:
  • Spondylolisthesis (loss of one or several bone elements at once);
  • Severe injuries or spine fractures;
  • Narrowing of the spinal canal lumen;
  • Classical and compression traumatic fractures, sprains;
  • Excessive spinal column mobility, instability;
  • Degenerative or dystrophic processes in the spine that pose a threat to human life and health;
  • Scoliosis stage 3-4, irreversible pathological changes in the spine;
  • Pseudarthrosis;
  • Destruction of intervertebral discs;
  • Pinched nerve endings.
